Body of second fisherman found in Kosciusko County quarry

KOSCIUSKO COUNTY, Ind. (WOWO): A  Michigan man’s body was found in a Kosciusko County quarry on Monday after police say he and his companion fell through the ice while fishing over the weekend.

On Monday officers found the body of 41-year-old Allen Stattler of Dowagiac, Mich., according to Officer Jonathon Boyd with the Indiana Department of Natural Resources.

Around 7 p.m. Sunday, officers pulled the body of 29-year-old Dustin Reaker of Bremen from the Leesburg quarry near 76 W 600 North in Kosciusko County.

The search began when someone called police around 4 p.m. Sunday because they saw fishing equipment next to a large hole in the ice. Another witness said the equipment had been on the ice all day, according to Indiana DNR.
