Boone Grove AD Approved by IHSAA as Assistant Commissioner

INDIANAPOLIS (AP) _ Boone Grove athletic director Kerrie Schludecker will become the newest assistant commissioner of the Indiana High School Athletic Association on Aug. 1.

The IHSAA executive committee approved the nomination Monday.

She'll replace Sandy Searcy and oversee volleyball, boys and girls swimming and softball. Searcy left to take a position with the Indianapolis-based National Federation of State High School Associations.

The 30-year-old Schludecker joins the IHSAA after three years leading the athletic department at Boone Grove in northwestern Indiana. Before that, she spent two years as the AD at Michigan City Marquette.

The Indianapolis Roncalli grad has worked with the Indiana Interscholastic Athletic Administrators Association, the National Interscholastic Athletic Administrators Association, graduated from Marian University in Indianapolis and earned a master's degree at Valparaiso.
