Car Runs Into Home in Early Morning Crash

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO): Two women escaped injury when a car slammed through a wall of their house in Fort Wayne, going through the living room and into the kitchen.

The crash about 4 a.m. Tuesday awoke Angelina Jones and her mother Lisa Jones-St. Clair as they slept upstairs in the house in a neighborhood south of the city's downtown.

Police say the driver ran off after the crash. The car went over a curb, through part of the yard and into the side of the house, knocking the fireplace across the room.

Jones says she was shocked by what happened and that she at first thought it could be an earthquake.

Workers used a flatbed tow truck to remove the car from inside the house.
