Cause Under Investigation After Duplex Fire in Fort Wayne

FORT WAYNE, IND. (WOWO) Fort Wayne firefighters brought a duplex fire under control Tuesday evening after flames heavily damaged one side of the structure. Crews were dispatched to 2007 Olympia Court just before 6 p.m. for a report of a residential fire.

According to the Fort Wayne Fire Department, firefighters arrived to find heavy fire involvement throughout one unit of the single-story duplex. Crews initiated an offensive fire attack to stop the flames from extending into the adjoining apartment. The department reported that “all occupants had self-evacuated from both apartments prior to arrival.”

The fire was marked under control 21 minutes after crews reached the scene. No injuries were reported.

Fire investigators are working to determine the cause of the blaze. The adjoining unit sustained no significant fire damage due to the containment efforts.

The investigation is ongoing.
