Cedar Point to Shut Down Popular Ride

SANDUSKY, Ohio (WOWO): It's the end of line for Cedar Point's Mantis ride.


The Ohio Amusement park says the ride – once billed as the tallest, fastest, steepest stand-up roller coaster in the world – will shut down in October.

The ride opened in 1996, since that time, coaster has given more than 22 million rides.

Officials haven't said what's going to fill its spot. Only saying, they are excited for what's ahead for “the Roller Coaster Capital of the World.”
