INDIANAPOLIS (AP) _ A social media company based in Chicago says it plans to spend $2.9 million to lease and equip an office in downtown Indianapolis and that it will hire 336 Indiana residents by 2020.
Geofeedia Inc., a company that gathers and analyzes social media data in real time, currently employs 20 people in Indianapolis and has 24 full-time associates in Chicago and Napes, Florida. The Indianapolis Star reports the company could receive up to $4.4 million in tax credits from the Indiana Economic Development Corporation if it meets its employment goals.
Geofeedia CEO Phil Harris cited a strong technology talent pool in Indiana and local colleges as reasons for expanding in Indianapolis.
