Child Killed, Six Others Hurt in I-69 Crash

DALEVILLE, Ind. (AP) _ A child has died and six other people have been injured in a crash that shut down all lanes of Interstate 69 between Anderson and Muncie.

Indiana State Police say a car carrying five people abruptly stopped in the northbound right lane and a pickup with two people inside plowed into the back of it around noon Tuesday near Daleville, about 40 miles northeast of Indianapolis.
Police say a second child and an adult were airlifted to hospitals in Indianapolis.

The crash closed all lanes for about two hours and northbound lanes for an additional 90 minutes.
