FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO): The investigation continues after the death of a young child.

Authorities say an unresponsive toddler was transported Sunday morning to a local hospital, and later pronounced dead. Parents told investigators the child was sleeping near them in a bed at a residence on West Creighton and became unresponsive. Paramedics attempted to revive the child en route to the hospital.

The investigation is standard procedure. An autopsy has been scheduled.
