FORTY WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO): Allen County residents are invited to join Fort Wayne Animal Care and Control in celebrating the holidays on Wednesday, December 10 from 3:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m., at the shelter located on Hillegas Road.

You'll have the opportunity to tour the shelter, visit with the animals, enjoy refreshments, and learn about volunteer opportunities.

Guests are encouraged to bring donations for the purchase of medical supplies or gifts of canned food for cats and dogs. Other items of need include creamy peanut butter, chew toys, cat litter and pet treats.

As a reminder, the pet adoption center will be closed during the open house.
