Colts Quarterback Gathers Support for Child Health Program

INDIANAPOLIS (AP): Indianapolis Colts quarterback Andrew Luck wants Indiana lawmakers to support his health and fitness initiative for children.

Luck and experts from Riley Hospital for Children visited the Statehouse Tuesday to meet with lawmakers and support a resolution that recognizes the success of his “Change the Play'' initiative.

The program helps equip children with the information and tools needed to make better health and fitness choices. Since it began in 2013, it has involved more than 20,000 kids and is implemented in more than 100 Indiana schools.

Luck told Senate members that the program emphasizes a balance between eating right and exercising regularly, while also encouraging children to have fun. He says he hopes the resolution and support from legislators will help the program impact more children, families, schools and communities.
