FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO): Fundraising efforts for Fort Wayne’s riverfront development project got a big shot in the arm Monday.

The Community Foundation of Greater Fort Wayne issued a $500,000 grant to the city’s Parks Department Monday, to be used as a “$1-for-$2” match to benefit the Parks Foundation’s pledge to raise $1.5-million for the construction of the first phase of Riverfront Development.

The Community Foundation’s Executive Director, David Bennett, calls the development an “exciting project” that they’re pleased to support.

So far, the Foundation has raised more than $4-million for riverfront development efforts to-date.
