Conservation Officers Find Missing Paddler After Canoe Capsizes

MILLTOWN, Ind. (WOWO): Indiana Conservation Officers are investigating after a canoe capsized on Blue River and left a couple stranded earlier this evening. Shortly after 8:00 p.m., Crawford County Dispatch contacted units advising of a missing female on Blue River. Indiana Conservation Officers responded along with other local agencies performing a search in the area of E. White Road in Crawford County. Alisa Fink, 48, and Sean Falvey, 47, both of Louisville, had been canoeing on Blue River from Totten Ford Road to Milltown when their canoe capsized. Fink and Falvey became separated on opposite sides of the River unable to retrieve their canoe. Falvey hiked downstream on the Harrison County side of the River making contact with a landowner who assisted him in returning to Milltown, where he then notified authorities. Fink, along with the family dog, was located uninjured around 11:15p.m. approximately 4 ½ miles upstream of Milltown. Conservation Officers on the Crawford County side of the River narrowed the search area after hearing her yelling for assistance.
