Council Delays Legacy Money for USF Project

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO): No so fast. A plan from Mayor Tom Henry to allocate $3 million dollars to a University of St. Francis project is getting a closer look.

City Council voted Tuesday to delay the request for at least two weeks.

The money would come from the City Light Legacy Fund to assist in renovation project to the former Scottish Rite Auditorium and Chamber of Commerce building. Opponents say its not about the project, its about the spirit of what the legacy money is meant for.

The delay will give the city and university a chance to make an alternate plan.
