Crashes Snarl Traffic on I469 Around Fort Wayne

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (AP): Numerous vehicles crashed on Interstate 469 amid conditions that state police say included blowing snow and icy roadways.
 
The crashes Thursday morning prompted authorities to close the westbound lanes of I-469 on Fort Wayne's northeast side for a time.
 
The News-Sentinel reports as many as 15 vehicles were involved in one pileup, but no serious injuries were reported.
 
Wind gusts reaching 45 mph were reported in the area early Thursday.
