Customer Service Company Adding 1,000 Jobs in Indy

INDIANAPOLIS (AP) – A customer service company plans to add 1,000 new full- and part-time positions at its Indianapolis office.

The Indianapolis Star and the Indianapolis Business Journal report most of the new jobs at Interactions Corp. will be data entry positions or customer service assistants.

Interactions marketing manager Dan Fox says the new jobs will pay $12-$18 per hour, based on an employee's productivity, speed and accuracy.

Interactions employs workers it calls “virtual assistants” who listen in on customers' calls to voice-response systems and direct the systems when they can't understand customer responses or hit a glitch. Interactions' customers include online retailers and health insurance companies.

The Boston-based company currently employs several hundred workers in Indianapolis.
