FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO): Purdue University President Mitch Daniels wants IPFW's current designation as a “Regional Campus” to be reclassified as a “Metropolitan University”.



Along with the Purdue Board of Trustees, President Daniels also requested that the Commission modify the metrics applied to IPFW through the state’s Performance Funding Formula. This change would recognize the impact on the state and regional economy made by IPFW graduates in the fields of science, technology, engineering, and mathematics.



When approved, IPFW will join Indiana University-Purdue University Indianapolis (IUPUI) as one of the state’s two Metropolitan Universities.
