Day-care center worker faces molestation charge

INDIANAPOLIS (AP):  A 20-year-old Indianapolis man has been arrested on charges alleging that he fondled a 4-year-old girl at a day-care center where he works.

Ali Al-Awadi was arrested Friday on a preliminary child molestation charge. He remained held Saturday at the Marion County Jail.

An Indianapolis police report says Al-Award is a staff member at the Children's Choice Learning Center at St. Vincent's Hospital Center, where the molestation allegedly occurred Friday.

Police spokesman Sgt. Kendale Adams tells The Indianapolis Star (http://indy.st/1twq1VC ) the girl was examined at the hospital after telling one of her parents about the incident.

Adams says the girl then “was able to tell police what happened.”

A hospital statement says the suspect has been suspended. He's employed by the day-care center, which provides child-care services for hospital employees.
