Decatur, Adams County Battling Floods

DECATUR, Ind. (WOWO): As waters rise in Adams County the call for volunteers has gone out.
Residents have spent the day filling sandbags at a a pace of about 1000 pounds every five minutes. That's keeping workers busy, but officials say they could use more. Ideally, they are asking for workers to commit to two-hour shits.

This comes as Adams County as well as much of will remain under a flood warning. Other parts are under a flash flood watch until 9 p.m. tonight. If the rains now aren't enough there's chance Tropical Depression Bill could impact weather next week.

As flooding grips the area. One Decatur resident faces a familiar problem

Brad McBride lives on Bellmont Road, an area so prone to high waters, flooding is practially a tradition.

Even with flood waters just inches from his porch he's not budging. He says he's not worried.
He's comparing it to the flood of 2003 that left him with more than $50,000 in damages and problems with looting at his home.
