FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO): Add another opponent to the list of those against the proposed North IV Annexation for areas to the north and northwest of Fort Wayne.

The East Allen County Schools Board voted 5-2 yesterday to send a letter to City government, officially opposing the move, according to the Journal Gazette. Board members Paulette Nellems and Arden Hoffman voted against the motion.

EACS officials say the annexation will cost them $325,000 a year in property tax revenues.

Since Mayor Tom Henry announced the plan, Northwest Allen County Schools and Fort Wayne Community Schools have also come against the plan, saying they’ll lose money too.

The City Council is expected to vote on the annexation’s fiscal plan next week.
