ELKHART COUNTY, Ind. (WOWO) — Testing showed the new Hexwave scanners failed, repeatedly during trials, allowing weapons to go through without setting off alarms.
Commissioner Brad Rogers said the technology clearly didn’t meet security standards.
So, there’s sending them back.
The Goshen News reports each scanner cost $60-thosuand dollars, so the money is big.
The county has, instead, purchased three standard Garrett metal detectors for $25,000 each.
