ELKHART, IND. (WOWO) An Elkhart man is facing multiple felony charges after investigators say he sexually abused a family member over a period of several years.

According to court records, Jon Henderson is currently being held in the Elkhart County Jail on three counts of child molestation and one count of incest. The alleged victim is a juvenile girl whose identity is being withheld due to her age according to WNDU.

Police say the victim reported the abuse occurred multiple times over a four-year period. Investigators allege the incidents happened while Henderson was driving the victim around her neighborhood. According to charging documents, the victim told officers Henderson referred to the car rides as “their secret.”

Henderson has denied the allegations.

Court paperwork indicates the victim’s statements were corroborated through independent observations and additional investigation. A detective involved in the case wrote that he believes the information provided is “reliable and credible.”

At this time, no court date has been scheduled.
