INDIANAPOLIS (AP) _ Organizers say they’ve prepared extra security measures for Saturday’s 500 Festival Mini-Marathon in Indianapolis.
 
  The expected 35,000 runners and walkers are being told not to have backpacks or duffel bags and bring personal items only in the white plastic bags they received at their registration pickup in the days before the race.
 
  Festival spokeswoman Megan Bulla tells WISH-TV that runners’ bib numbers will be watched more closely before the race to make sure they in the right place.
 
  City homeland security director Gary Coons tells The Indianapolis Star that additional bomb-sniffing dogs, cameras and police officers will also be in place following last month’s bombing at the Boston Marathon.
 
  The 13.1-mile route goes from the city’s downtown to the Indianapolis Motor Speedway and back downtown.
