F-16 Flyover Planned for Fort Wayne Fourth of July Parade

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO): A pair of military fighter jets will help launch Fort Wayne’s Fourth of July celebration with a special flyover above the city’s annual parade route.

According to the City of Fort Wayne, the Celebrate America, 250 Years United Fourth of July Parade will begin with a tactical formation flyover featuring two F-16 Fighting Falcon aircraft. The jets are scheduled to make a low-altitude pass over South Calhoun Street at approximately 10 a.m. on July 4.

City officials said the parade route will run along South Calhoun Street from Creighton Avenue to Main Street and is open to the public as a family-friendly event.

The city also noted that parade applications remain available for those interested in participating. The deadline to register is June 15 at 11:59 p.m.

According to the City of Fort Wayne, the Celebrate America, 250 Years United Parade is presented by the city and Steel Dynamics, with additional support from Fort Wayne Metals and Surack Enterprises.
