Travis Hurd                                                       15-year-old Vanessa Hurd

NEWTON COUNTY, Ind. (WOWO): The FBI is assisting the Newton County Sheriff’s Office in the investigation of a missing teenager from Goodland.

The teen, Vanessa Hurd, is described as a white female, 15 years of age, 5’2”, 106 pounds, blue eyes, shoulder-length blond hair.  Hurd is said to have fair-skin with a salmon-colored birth mark on one of her calves. 

It is believed Hurd may be in the company of her father, Travis Hurd, who is described as 5’11”, 215 pounds with brown eyes and brown hair.  Neither Vanessa nor Travis Hurd have been seen since December 30, 2014. Police say there is no known vehicle information or known destination for the Hurds and the FBI is concerned Vanessa Hurd may be the subject of exploitation by her father.
