Feds Say Budget Cuts Could Effect Housing Vouchers

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (AP): A federal housing official in Fort Wayne says the automatic federal budget cuts are expected to cut a third of local funding for federal housing vouchers for low-income residents. Fort Wayne Housing Authority executive director Maynard Scales says the agency will receive only 67 percent of the funding it had expected for Section 8 vouchers. The housing authority was paid about $1.4 million last year to operate the program.
