Fire at Hoosier Metal Shuts Down Lane of Coliseum

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO): A fire closed one lane of traffic on Coliseum Tuesday. The Fort Wayne Fire Department responded to Hoosier Metal after they got a call about an explosion and black smoke coming out of the facility. Crews got to the scene to find a trailer on fire in the back of the parking lot. The fire did not affect the building. Workers said they were compressing scrap autos in the trailer when there was a small explosion catching the other materials in the trailer on fire. The fire department worked with Hoosier Metal employees to get burning material out of the trailer with a crane. No injuries were reported.
