FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO): A woman who spent 14 years on the Fort Wayne City Council has died.
77-year-old Janet Bradbury died last week after a short battle with brain cancer. The Fort Wayne native’s obituary states that she held a Bachelor’s degree from the University of Saint Francis and spent 30 years as a sixth-grade teacher for Fort Wayne Community Schools before serving on the Council as an at-large Democrat until 1995.
The News-Sentinel reports she was proudest of her work in animal control and collective bargaining for city workers. She also ran for the Indiana General Assembly and Senate, albeit unsuccessfully.
