FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO): A Fort Wayne church took time to honor the 17 victims of last week’s school shooting in Florida.

17 white roses were laid at the altar of the Imani Baptist Church Sunday, with each victim’s name being read aloud. Reverend Bill McGill tells our Partners in News at ABC 21 he and his church want the shootings to stop.

“We’ve got to get this business of gun control, under control, and we’re gonna have to talk to our legislatures and make them have the courage of their convictions that we have to stop having records of this nature in our community.”

McGill says if this latest school shooting isn’t a “wake up call,” then he doesn’t know what is.
