FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO): The Fort Wayne City Council approved the introduction of a Riverfront development architectural contract last night.

The procedural step sets up a July 19th meeting for the Parks and Recreation Department to discuss the contract in detail and possibly recommend it for approval, according to our partners in news at 21Alive.

The contract itself has a total cost of $1.7-million, and the development project involving both sides of the St. Mary’s River in downtown Fort Wayne should end up costing around $20-million.

Mayor Tom Henry is looking to get funding secured before construction begins toward the end of the year.
