Fort Wayne fire crews battle early morning blaze

 

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO): Around 4 a.m. Friday, Fort Wayne fire crews responded to a house fire on E. Masterson Avenue, just east of Lafayette Street in Fort Wayne. 

According to a release from the Fort Wayne Fire Department, both floors of the home sustained heavy damage. Five people were sleeping downstairs when the fire broke out, and were able to get out safely.

It took firefighters about 25 minutes to bring the blaze under control, with assistance by Fort Wayne Police, NIPSCO, and AEP.
