Fort Wayne firm eyeing expansion, more jobs

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO): A Fort Wayne firm is looking at an expansion that could create 60 new jobs.

Accugear Incorporated is requesting a tax abatement from the Fort Wayne City Council this week on a planned $13-million expansion that includes adding 67,000-square-feet to its facility on Innovation Drive plus new equipment.

The News-Sentinel reports, if approved, the 10-year abatement would save the company almost $429,000 in property taxes and around $1.2-million in equipment taxes.

Accugear makes gears for the automotive industry. The Council will consider their request tomorrow night.
