Fort Wayne Husband And Wife Dead, Suspects In Custody

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO) – Two separate shootings over the weekend leave a husband and wife dead.

Shortly before 10:45 a.m. Friday morning, 34-year-old Vanessa Lyn Brabson of Fort Wayne, was found dead near Bloomingdale Park on Sherman Boulevard. According to the coroners report, Vanessa Brabson’s cause of death was determined to be a gunshot wound to the head. Her death has been ruled a homicide.

On Sunday morning, police were called to the area of Calhoun Street and Pettit Avenue shortly before 6:30 a.m. and found 33-year-old Sean Thomas Brabson of Fort Wayne, suffering from gunshot wounds.

Sean Brabson was transported to a local hospital where he later died.

According to the Allen County Coroner’s Office, Sean Brabson’s cause of death has determined to be multiple gunshot wounds. His death has also been ruled a homicide.

Vanessa Brabson and Sean Brabson become the 22nd and 23rd homicides in Allen County so far this year.

At this time, police have arrested 31-year-old Sedrick Williams on Saturday morning in connection to the shooting death of Vanessa Brabson. Williams is being charged with murder and is currently housed at the Allen County Jail.

33-year-old James Saylor has been arrested in connection to the murder of Sean Brabson on Sunday morning. Saylor was seen on video surveillance running into the alley behind Brabson before the shooting started. Saylor has been taken into custody on one count of murder.

The Fort Wayne Police Department and the Allen County Prosecutor’s officer are still investigating.
