Fort Wayne Man Leads Police on Chase in DeKalb Co.

DEKALB COUNTY, Ind. (WOWO): A Fort Wayne man led police on a high-speed chase on Southbound I-69 in DeKalb County early Tuesday morning.

Police followed the driver David Herman, after he refused to stop near the 340 mile marker in Ashley, IN. His car had no headlights or taillights while he was driving at a high rate of speed.

Officers followed Herman until he exited at the 334 mile marker onto US-Highway 6, and drove into a gas station.

Herman got out of his car and approached officers in an aggressive manner.

Police decided to use a taser on Herman after he was given multiple warnings to get on the ground.

A female and infant were also in Herman's vehicle.

Herman faces both misdemeanor and felony charges, including resisting law enforcement and neglect of a dependent.
