FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO): The Fort Wayne Rescue Mission may have found a new home.

The mission has filed plans to build a new 85,000-square-foot facility at the corner of Washington and Lafayette, according to the News-Sentinel.

Its current location, which the mission says its outgrown, is also reportedly a big part of Fort Wayne’s riverfront development plans, and the sale of that property could help finance the move.

The new facility would be equipped to help both homeless men and women shelter as well as vocational training and other resources.

The mission hopes to open the new facility in 2018.
