Fort Wayne Speller to Compete in National Spelling Bee



FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO): The word was fatuity. Twelve-year old Lwin Moe Aung of Fort Wayne spelled it correctly to earn a spot in the national spelling bee in Washington.



Saturday, the Lutheran Unity South Seventh-grader won the Journal-Gazette's regional spelling beepresented by the Journal-Gazette.



The national spelling bee is scheduled for May. Thirteen-year-old Eric Cockroft, a seventh-grader at Angola Middle School finished second.



By the way, the word fatuity means, complacent stupidity or smug foolishness according the Journal-Gazette. The local competition featured 15 county champions from around the area.
