FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO) The Fort Wayne Philharmonic is opening a new downtown performance space at 826 Ewing Street, near the former University of St. Francis Performing Arts Center and the Scottish Rite building. The city approved a three-way liquor license for the venue, which the Philharmonic estimates will account for roughly 14% of alcohol sales revenue and about 2% of its total annual income.

The venue provides a permanent home for concerts, rehearsals, and community events such as book clubs, while giving the Philharmonic increased flexibility for smaller performances and administrative activities. The City Council approved the liquor license 6-1, alongside a separate approval for Paula’s on Main.

Officials say the new space will support both artistic programming and financial sustainability, allowing the Philharmonic to expand its offerings in the heart of downtown Fort Wayne.
