LAPORTE COUNTY, Ind. (WOWO) — Someone threw frozen bottles from a moving car over the weekend, damaging vehicles and putting people driving cars at risk in LaPorte County.

The incidents happened mostly along or near U.S. 421 between 2:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. Saturday.

Investigators say the thrown objects damaged at least seven cars, causing thousands of dollars in repairs.

Photos posted online show shattered headlights, damaged grills, and plastic stuck inside vehicles.

Most of the objects were frozen water bottles, though one car was hit by a frozen two-liter bottle.

The LaPorte County Sheriff’s Department is investigating and increasing patrols, calling the acts criminal and extremely dangerous.
