FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO): Officials at Fort Wayne International Airport say weather and mechanical issues are to blame for a few delays, not federal budget cuts. The National Air Traffic Controllers Association says there have been 5,800 flight delays across the country for the three-day period beginning Sunday, when the furloughs took effect. Indiana Senator Dan Coats told the Journal-Gazette the Federal Aviation Administration should have trimmed outside consultants, rather than cut hours for about 47 thousand employees.
