Gas Station Clerk Shot on Indianapolis’ Northwest Side

INDIANAPOLIS (AP) _ A gas station clerk is in critical condition after a shooting on the northwest side of Indianapolis.

Police say two men wearing all black walked into a Phillips 66 gas station around 8:40 p.m. Sunday and shot the clerk in the chest after a brief conversation and then calmly walked out.

Officials say the clerk initially was listed in “extremely critical condition” and later was upgraded the critical condition at a local hospital. He's expected to survive.

The Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department is investigating the incident. No one was in custody late Sunday night.

Anyone with information about the shooting is asked to call the police department.
