LEIPSIC, Ohio (WOWO): Around 1 a.m. Sunday, police responded to a single vehicle crash on County Road 7 near County Road D in Putnam County.
During the investigation, it was found that 48-year-old Shelly Bennett was traveling southbound on County Road 7, then went off the road and struck the end of a guardrail. Bennett then over-corrected and went off the other side of the road, where the vehicle crashed into a deep ditch embankment.
Officials say Bennett was unresponsive when they arrived to the scene, and add she died due to injuries sustained in the crash.
Bennett was not wearing a properly adjusted seatbelt. Alcohol is not believed to be a factor in the crash.
