Gate Opens to Bring Winter River Levels

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO): According to a press release issued by the City of Fort Wayne, the Tainter gate at the Hosey Dam on the Maumee River will open on Monday, November 17 to bring river levels down to the normal winter pool.

Opening the gate will allow river levels, mostly in the downtown area, to decrease by a few feet next week. The levels will remain at the lower level through mid-April of next year. At that time the gate will close and the river levels will rise to normal summer pool levels.
