Goodwill Hosts Free Computer Recycling Drive

FORT WAYNE Ind. (WOWO): Goodwill is hosting a free computer collection drive on Saturday.

Nine area Goodwill stores will be taking donations from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Those stores are located in Auburn, Angola, Columbia City, Fort Wayne, and Huntington.

Anyone with extra parts or whole computers, working or nonworking, can drop off their components free of charge.

Items include accessories mice, keyboards, monitors, printers, hard drive, or anything that can be attached to a computer.

Before donating your items, Goodwill suggests backing up any valuable information or sensitive data. They also say to label and place any item with broken glass into a cardboard box, and writing the date on the outside.

All donations are tax deductible to the extent allowed by the law. However, Goodwill does NOT accept televisions and should be taken to OmniSource, where they can be recycled.
