Governor Directs INDOT to Ready for Full Callout

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. (WOWO): Governor Mike Pence has directed the Indiana Department of Transportation to ready itself for a full callout across most of the state as dangerous winter weather approaches.

“INDOT will use all necessary resources to keep the interstates, U.S. highways and state routes open and as safe as possible for emergency responders,” said Governor Pence. “Hoosiers can do their part by following county travel advisories and staying off the roads, both during the storm and the blowing and drifting that follows. Do not put yourselves or your local emergency responders in harm’s way.”

The agency is also readying its fleet of pickup trucks to deliver parts to stalled vehicles or rescue drivers if necessary.
