FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO): The Fort Wayne City Council has awarded Greater Fort Wayne Inc. the rest of their yearly funding.

The Council decided in January to only give the economic development group half of the city’s yearly $250,000 contribution over concerns about the agency’s “aggressive” lobbying efforts, including accusations of intimidation against elected officials. The Journal Gazette reports that the Council decided to award the remaining amount after getting an apology for inappropriate conduct from the group’s board chairman, Ron Turpin.

Turpin also promised to not make any political threats against opponents going forward, and says their lobbying will include a disclaimer saying their actions don’t reflect the City of Fort Wayne or Allen County.

Councilmen Jason Arp and Paul Ensley voted against restoring the funding.
