Guilty Verdict for Fort Wayne Man in Stabbing Case

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO): A guilty verdict has been reached Friday afternoon in the case of a Fort Wayne man who stabbed his mother-in-law to death two years ago.

Freddie Alcantar Jr. was found guilty after less than an hour of deliberations by an Allen County jury. Our partners in news at 21Alive say that family members of the victim, Debra Jones, hugged each other after the verdict was read.

Alcantar stabbed Jones to death at a home on the city's northeast side. He then fled and was arrested months later in the Los Angeles area by U.S. Marshals.
