Huntertown to Hold New Hearing on Sewer Rates

A recent Huntertown council decision to change utility rates has been reversed.  The council had agreed to put aside its flat-rate fee structure in favor of a metered rate on water utilities, but the Journal Gazette says, it was recently discovered utility customers were not properly notified of the December 4th public hearing.  That means Huntertown now has to conduct another public hearing on January 7th.  Even though the first meeting was advertised and posted as state law requires, customers who live outside the corporate limits, but within the utility service area, weren’t notified.
