HUNTINGTON, Ind. (WOWO): A trail project in Huntington is the latest recipient of money from the Indiana Regional Cities fund.

The Northeast Indiana Regional Development Authority has awarded more than $255,000 to help improve a little more than three-quarters of a mile of the Little River Trail in Huntington.

The News-Sentinel reports that while initially the Authority’s board was concerned about spending money on that small of a portion of the trail, apparently a tour of the section in question – which is part of a larger trailer network – was enough to calm their fears.

The money covers 20% of the project’s total cost.
