IDEM approves Steuben County Hog Farm

STEUBEN COUNTY, Ind. (WOWO): A big stink for a proposed Steuben County hog farm.

The Indiana Department of Environmental Management approved the project that could include nearly 5,000 animals.

K&D Contract pork must now get approval from county officials. That's not necessarily an easy task. According to the Journal-Gazette, neighbors are concerned about how it would affect water, air quality and property values.

The property is about three miles from Lake Gage, in the northwest part of the county.
