INDIANAPOLIS (WOWO): Gas prices across Indiana continued to decline this week, providing some relief for motorists heading into the summer travel season.

According to AAA, the statewide average price for a gallon of regular gasoline was $3.39, down 19 cents from a week ago.

AAA reported that Scott County had the lowest average gas price in Indiana at $3.19 per gallon.

Despite the recent decline, prices vary by region and station location across the state.

Nationally, the average price for regular gasoline stood at $4.15 per gallon, significantly higher than Indiana’s statewide average, according to AAA.

Analysts say fuel prices can fluctuate based on crude oil costs, refinery activity, seasonal demand and regional supply conditions. Motorists are encouraged to compare prices locally to find the lowest available rates.
