INDIANAPOLIS (AP) _ Indiana lawmakers are ready to hear what the public has to say on proposals to end the state’s long-running ban on Sunday retail alcohol sales.
 
  The Indiana House’s public policy committee has scheduled a Wednesday public hearing at the Statehouse on bills that call for a lifting of the state’s ban.  Indiana is currently the last state in the nation to bar retail alcohol sales on Sundays.
 
  WRTV-TV reports that supporters of the bills argue that Indiana’s Sunday ban on retail alcohol sales is one of the toughest in the nation and costs the state $9 million in lost tax revenue.
 
  But many package liquor stores argue that the cost of opening on Sundays would make it impossible for them to compete with big supermarket chains.
